Minor incidents, damage and costs for fleet management. How do we keep balance and costs under control?

A recent analysis of the type of traffic incidents ranks on the first place head-to-tail collisions and highlighted the fact that a significant number of accidents occur due not giving priority.
In addition, although fines for the use of mobile phones and devices in traffic have increased, the number of traffic incidents caused by smartphones is still increased.
A significant number of damages are caused during the parking maneuvers or damage caused by unknown authors.

What can we do to reduce these risks and, in case something, however, happens how can we effectively address the required repairs?

A change of attitude is required

First  safe driving courses  can help raise awareness of the risks that the driver exposes himself and others around. With the aim of reducing the number of accidents and to add extra know how, their results are seen, most often, in a reduced number of incidents involving company cars, deduction of the insurance premiums paid by the company for the car park and improved road conduct.  We can facilitate the access of our clients to these resources, for good prices.

Then,  driver assistance systems  become a necessity.

We recommend our customers vehicles with automatic transmission, but this is not enough. Advanced driver assistance systems and constant training of employees in the direction of prevention can greatly help. The adaptive autopilot helps to keep the distance from the front vehicle and together with the Collision Assistance can prevent the front-to-tail incidents.

Many of the damages occurred during parking maneuvers can be easily avoided.  Parking sensors and video cameras  must be mandatory and part of the standard equipment of the company vehicle.

Bluetooth systems are also in the category of essential equipment. Avoid not only a hefty fine, but implement a sustainable system of prevention and good driver conduct practices.

Traffic conduct can sometimes be directly influenced by  personal reasons, and these incidents can remain just isolated case. Even for these situations, there are solutions, if the good practices promoted within the company constantly approach driving safety and encourage communication.

How do we approach vehicle repairs in operational leasing …

The vehicles in operational leasing have both TPL car insurance and CASCO insurance. In the case of damages covered by the CASCO policy, good practices recommend performing repairs whenever incidents occur. Failure to do so in time can lead to aggravated damage  and may result in higher return penalties.

It is also important that the Return Guide is consulted when the vehicle is returned and that all aspects that could generate costs are corrected. We come to our clients’ support and on request we carry out pre-evaluation sessions during the contract to help them understand and estimate more accurately these final contract costs.
